Match report

Court 2 first saw action between 3^rd string Stroud player James Telford and Cameron Bryan, with Cameron playing consistent basic squash to all corners to take the first and second 11-6, 11-8. James pulled back the third in a tight 13-11 tiebreaker before succumbing 11-4 in the fourth. Simon Boucher fought hard in the fifth string encounter but ultimately lost to Rory Anderson in straight games, narrowly dropping the third set 11-9. Stroud’s Sacha Cooper at second string overcame Martin Cooper in three games to bring back some hope to the home team. Stroud A first string Tony Richmond levelled the match score after losing the first game to the wily Mike Healey by taking the next three tight games. Unfortunately, the last match went East Glos’s way, with Dave Norton losing, despite levelling at one game apiece, in four to Tim Morphew. With 3 matches to 2 victory, and 5 points to the winning team, the match score finished 15-9 to East Glos. Next week Stroud A will look to gain their first team victory away to Cheltenham Ladies College A.
