    Match report

First up, Sacha Cooper (1) took on Johnny Carne on court 1, losing the first but taking the second. Johnny avenged his previous December defeat to Sacha with long-rallying good basic squash, taking the next two, the fourth in a tie-break. Seamus Parker (3) took on Mitch Crawford on court 2, winning a closely fought first game that could have gone either way. The second was similarly close, but went to Mitch, before a niggling injury to Seamus compromised his movement and shot quality, seeing the next two games go to Mitch. Match situation: Stroud A 0 - Cotswold B 2. Dave Norton (4) was next up on court 2, hoping to get revenge against Gary Burton. Gary took the first, but Dave's game improved as the match went on in terms of dominating the T, line and length, and shot selection, and he teased out a 3-1 win. The penultimate match was between Simon Boucher (5) and Jon Plant, which Simon seized, with enough quality, in straight games. Match situation: 2 matches apiece. Tony Richmond (2) was last on court 1 in the decider against Luke Smolinski, who normally plays BADS leagues. Tony took the first two, with mistakes from Luke's racket and some good winners from Tony in relatively short rallies. Luke countered by taking the third, more of his shots couting as winners, before Tony closed out the fourth to take the match and the fixture (15-8). Next week Stroud A are away at CLC A.
