First on court, fourth string Owen put in a consistent performance against Barry Wyett to win well in 3 games. Third string Dave Norton then looked like he was seeing the ball well and playing tight, good lengths and intercepting well on the volley to win the first two games, before Tom Esson took advantage of a lapse in concentration to take the third. Dave returned to the form displayed at the beginning of the match to close out the match in four. Simon Boucher at fifth string and second string Sacha Cooper were next up, both winning in 3, with Sacha's match more closely contested. First string Tony closed out the fixture with a win in 3 games against Simon Critchley despite some fine volley drops and crosscourt kills that made the second game closely fought. Another 20 points for a clean sweep Stroud A win sees them rise up the Prem B table. A break next week for half term will be followed by a home fixture against Cotswold B in 2 weeks.
